Picture it: Greenwich Village, 1953; a lonely 52-year-old Jewish store owner Sam Heisler and his 23-year-old African American employee Natalie Washington have the kind of close relationship that raises more than just a few eyebrows. Such is the premise of Paul Manuel Kane’s new off-Broadway comedy Dancing on Nails. The play stars Boardwalk Empire’s Peter Van Wagner as Sam and Jazmyn Richardson as Natalie, and includes a supporting cast of Michael Lewis, Lori Wilner and Lauren Klein. Directed by Allen Lewis Rickman, Dancing on Nails officially opens July 24 at Theatre 80, but Broadway.com has your first look at the play.
