Sex, Lies and Betrayal! The Illicit Revival Begins, Starring Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz & Rafe Spall

Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz and Rafe Spall are embroiled in a sexy and forbidden Broadway love triangle at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. The new revival of Harold Pinter’s 1978 drama Betrayal begins performances October 1, with the official opening night set for October 27. Directed by 10-time Tony winner Mike Nichols, the new production is slated to play a limited engagement through January 5, 2014.

In Betrayal, real-life Hollywood spouses Craig and Weisz portray not-so-happily married couple Robert and Emma, featuring Spall as Jerry, the literary agent who comes between them. Told in reverse chronological order, Betrayal tells the story of Robert (Craig), a man whose wife Emma (Weisz) is having a passionate love affair with his best friend Jerry (Spall). The new production is the third Broadway revival of Betrayal, which premiered on the Great White Way in 1980, starring Raul Julia, Blythe Danner and Roy Scheider.

The new production features set design by Ian MacNeil, costume design by Ann Roth, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt, sound design by Scott Lehrer and original music by James Murphy.
