What the What?! Tina Fey and Leslie Kritzer Complete the Starry Cast of Benefit Reading of Craig Lucas’ Reckless

You can go right ahead and just add this to your must-see list ASAP: Emmy winner Tina Fey and Broadway fave Leslie Kritzer are set to join the one-night-only benefit reading of Craig Lucas’ acclaimed 1983 dark comedy Reckless. Fey replaces the previously announced Lauren Ambrose and Kritzer is stepping in for Miriam Shor. Directed by Kate Whoriskey, the reading will benefit Safe Horizon, an organization that helps victims of violence overcome crisis and restore their lives. The performance will be held October 28 at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater.

Fey is (obviously!) well-known for her Emmy-winning role as Liz Lemon in the hit NBC sitcom 30 Rock, which she also penned and produced. Her other TV and film credits include Saturday Night Live, Mean Girls (which she also wrote), Baby Mama, Date Night and Admission. Kritzer 's Broadway credits include Elf, Sondheim on Sondheim, A Catered Affair, Legally Blonde and Hairspray. She recently starred in Nobody Loves You and The Memory Show off-Broadway.

In addition to Fey as Rachel and Kritzer as Trish/Woman Patient, Reckless will feature Michael Shannon as Lloyd, Kathy Najimy as Doctors 1-6, Michael Esper as Tom/Tom Jr./Man in Ski mask, Daniel Breaker as Tim Timko/Roy/Talk Show Host and Amy Herzog as Stage Directions.

Reckless tells the story of Rachel (Fey), a housewife who discovers one Christmas Eve that her husband has hired a hit-man to kill her, sending her out the window and on an unusual series of misadventures.

Reckless premiered in 1983 at the Production Company. A revival opened on Broadway in 2004, starring Mary Louise Parker, Debra Monk and Michael O’Keefe.
