A joyful meeting of theatrical “old friends” took place on October 17 at a debut screening of the Menier Chocolate Factory production of Merrily We Roll Along, which has been preserved on film and will be screened nationwide on October 23. Composer Stephen Sondheim was on hand to see this acclaimed London produciton on the big screen, along with Ann Morrison, who created the role of Mary Flynn in the show’s short-lived 1981 debut.
