Michael Cerveris & the Fun Home Company Savor a Fabulous Opening Night

The Public Theater’s eagerly awaited new musical Fun Home made its official bow on October 22, and you can tell from the smiling faces in our opening night photo gallery that the company knows they’ve got a special show on their hands! Tony winner Michael Cerveris plays the closeted owner of a Pennsylvania funeral home, with Beth Malone, Alexandra Socha and Sydney Lucas sharing the role of his precocious daughter, Alison, and Judy Kuhn as his wife. Based on Alison Bechdel’s graphic memoir of the same name, Fun Home features music by Jeanine Tesori, a book and lyrics by Lisa Kron and sensitive direction by Sam Gold.
