Zosia Mamet and Allison Williams play unlikely friends on HBO’s Girls, and on October 28, they teamed up to play sisters in the New Group’s star-studded benefit reading of Crimes of the Heart. Set in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, Beth Henley’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama tells the story of the three MaGrath sisters, who go into crisis mode when Babe (Mamet), the youngest sister, shoots her abusive husband. Mamet and Williams (who played middle sister Meg) were joined by Tony nominee Marin Ireland as eldest sister Lenny. Helmed by by New Group artistic director Scott Elliott, the reading also featured Orange Is the New Black star Natasha Lyonne as Chick, Picnic alum Sebastian Stan as Doc and Russian Transport vet Raviv Ullman as Barnette.
