Colette’s iconic, sensual and passionate novel has come to life onstage in Cheri at off-Broadway's Pershing Square Signature Center, and on December 8, the cast celebrated opening night. Conceived and created by choreographer Martha Clarke, the mash-up of dance, music and theater features ballet stars Alessandra Ferri and Herman Cornejo, Oscar nominee Amy Irving and pianist Sarah Rothenberg in the classic love story between an aging courtesan and the much younger object of her desire. After the haunting story unfolded onstage, Clarke and her cast commemorated the evening with a star-studded soiree.
