Glee creator Ryan Murphy is obviously a huge Julia Roberts fan. After all, he’s directed the Oscar winner in not one, but two movies: Eat Pray Love, and the forthcoming screen adaptation of The Normal Heart, premiering on HBO in 2014. So isn’t it about time Jules paid a visit to McKinley High? “Only if [Murphy] wants to take the empire down,” the actress joked to E! News. Well, maybe not.
In all seriousness, Roberts thinks it would be a blast to appear in the hit FOX series: “If [Murphy] came up with some funny soap opera back from the dead moment for the last vestiges of the entire series, wouldn’t that be fun!” she said. Uh, we have no idea what you’re talking about, Julia, but we hope it means you’re playing Rachel Berry’s free-spirited aunt who invites her to Arizona to star in a dinner theater production of Yentl.
Roberts recently garnered Golden Globe and SAG Award nominations for her performance as Barbara Weston in the big-screen adaptation of Tracy Letts’ August: Osage County. The film is set to open in New York and L.A. on Christmas Day December 27 and will hit theaters throughout the U.S. on January 10, 2014.
