Murphy’s Law At Its Best: The Play That Goes Wrong Will Transfer to the West End!

The Play That Goes Wrong will transfer to the West End’s Duchess Theatre, following an acclaimed 21-week U.K. tour. Co-written by Mischief Theatre's Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, the slapstick comedy will begin performances on September 5 prior to a September 14 opening night.

Directed by Mark Bell, The Play That Goes Wrong introduces The Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society, a group attempting to put on a 1920s murder mystery. As the title suggests, what can go wrong does go wrong as the accident-prone thespians battle on against all odds to get to their final curtain call.

Lewis, Sayer and Shields will also star in the play, along with Charlie Russell, Dave Hearn, Greg Tannahill, Nancy Wallinger and Rob Falconer. The Play That Goes Wrong will feature sets by Nigel Hook and lighting design by Ric Mountjoy.

The Play That Goes Wrong originally opened in 2013 as a one-act show at the Old Red Lion in London before transferring to the Trafalgar Studios (Studio 2). The current U.K. tour is scheduled to run through July.
