Steven Pasquale to Woo His Wife, Laura Benanti, in Little Night Music Concert

Steven Pasquale has joined the cast of Roundabout Theatre Company's gala concert reading of Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music as Henrik Egerman, the stepson and lover of Anne Egerman, to be played by his real-life wife, Laura Benanti. Pasquale joins previously announced stars Natasha Richardson Desirée Armfeldt, Victor Garber Frederick Egerman, Christine Baranski Countess Charlotte Malcolm, Marc Kudisch Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm and Vanessa Redgrave Madame Armfeldt. The performance will be held on January 12, 2009, at the Nokia Theatre Times Square, directed by Scott Ellis, with Paul Gemignani leading a 27-member orchestra with orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick.

Not seen on Broadway in 35 years, this classic musical follows three lovestruck couples as they lose—and find—each other during a long midsummer night on a country estate. Sondheim’s heartbreaking score includes “Send in the Clowns,” “The Miller’s Son” and “A Weekend in the Country.”

Additional member of the 18-person cast and the design team for A Little Night Music will be announced shortly. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Roundabout Theatre Company.
