Jesus Christ Superstar

Jesus’ disciple and friend Judas Iscariot, who ultimately betrays him to the Romans for 30 pieces of silver.

Bio Brief:
Jesus Christ Superstar is Young’s Broadway debut. He has appeared in The Grapes of Wrath, Evita and Kiss Me, Kate at Stratford Shakespeare Festival, where the revival of Superstar originated. He has also appeared in a national tour of Les Miserables and an international tour of West Side Story.

Tony History:
This is Young’s first Tony nomination.

Fun Fact:
Young, who grew up in a conservative Jewish household in Pennsylvania, had no familiarity with the New Testament until he was an adult.
