Old Havana
"I Love that it was not just a play, we had drama, music and a dance show all wrapped into one. The cast was amazing they each did an excellent job in their performance! They told their story, and the history behind each song sung. My wife and I truly enjoyed it. I already told friends and family members. A Great show about the story of the legends of Afro Cuban Music and Salsa!
"I saw many of the early Cuba and Puerto Rican Salsa band performers while growing up in NYC. Also, I had the opportunity to hire Marco Rizo, the pianist and composer of the "I Love Lucy" theme song and Candido the great Cuban Conga player to do the South American Music Project in NJ back in the late 1970's in the New Jersey Dept of Education's Special Arts Project that put women and minorities in several school system in NJ as artists in residence. I will never forget those days. This musical brought them back!!! "

"I've been a fan of the Buena Vista Social Club project for years. I've seen the documentaries, the Carnegie Hall concert, the interviews etc., I have the BluRays, the CDs, etc. The Broadway show was last in my Buena Vista bucket list and it didn't disappoint. Great musicians, the music was tight, clean, as we musicians call it, they were in the pocket. Even the solos were just what was necessary; inspiring and impressive but not over done. Great singers as well. A true homage to the story of the Buena Vista Social Club and to the history of Cuban music, the music that inspired what we know today as Salsa music and influenced all current Latin music."

A performance I will remember for the rest of my life!
"This was my 1st Broadway show and I took my whole family to the show as part of our family vacation to NYC. This ended up being the highlight for all of us from my 16 year old to my 70 year old mom. Originally, I had trouble deciding which show to attend, but was already familiar with the music from Buena Vista Social Club, so I knew at the very least the music would be great. I had no idea I would be emotionally moved and cry throughout the show. The performance found a way to connect with everyone in the audience and has left lasting impressions. By then end of the show, my cheeks hurt from smiling so much. I was so impressed with the acting, singing, dancing, story line and the fact that the orchestra was integrated onto the stage. WOW, what a special way to end our visit to NYC!"
