What Is the Story of The Jacksonian?
Beth Henley’s eerie, darkly funny drama revolves around Bill, a disillusioned dentist who moves into the Jacksonian Motel in an attempt to repair his dysfunctional relationship with his wife, Susan. During his stay, Bill meets Fred, a bartender at the motel, and Eva, a maid and Fred's girlfriend, who is obsessed with getting a ring on her finger. As Bill’s stay stretches on for six months, he begins to lose touch with reality, further alienating his relationship with his wife and awkward teenage daughter, Rosy. Meanwhile, Rosy strikes up an unlikely friendship with Fred. Leading up to the night of a murder, The Jacksonian explores the strange secrets and racial tensions lurking under the surface in the town of Jackson, Mississippi, in 1964.
