In Marsha Norma's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, audience members are allowed to peek into the lives of mother and daughter, Jessie and Thelma Cates, on what appears to be a typical Saturday night in their quiet lives. What unfolds is a true emotional rollercoaster, packed into a tight 90 minutes. It a psychological drama that is the culmination of a lifetime of poor communication that is all at once funny, heartbreaking and completely gut-wrenching.'night, Mother is a searing portrait of a family in crisis, starring two truly incomparable actresses. Making her Broadway debut is Brenda Blethyn, a two-time Academy Award nominee for Secrets and Lies and Little Voice. Edie Falco, winner of three Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes for her role as Carmela Soprano on the HBO series The Sopranos, returns to the Broadway stage after her acclaimed performance in Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune.
