Off-Broadway's Marvelous Wonderettes Ring in Their One Year Anniversary

Time flies when you're having fun, right ladies? The Marvelous Wonderettes celebrated their one year anniversary on September 14, marking a full 365 days gone by at the musical's off-Broadway home, The Westside Theatre. The show's bubbly girl group, comprised of Kirsten Bracken, Misty Cotton, Christina DeCicco and Lindsay Mendez, knew only one appropriate way to celebrate: with cake (duh!). The lovely leading ladies were soon joined by show creator and director Roger Bean, producer David Elzer and cast alums Farah Alvin and Kristen Beth Williams for their off-Broadway birthday. The event coincided with the 418th performance of the show, helping the tuner pass by other long-running hits including 2006's Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris and 2001's Bat Boy en route to becoming one of the longest running off-Broadway shows in a good long while. The party didn't get too crazy, however. The quartet of showstoppers is dedicated to presenting their show, about four doo-wop singing pals on their 1958 prom night, in pitch-perfect fashion each night, so the shenanigans ended with plenty of time to rest up for the next days performance.
