The winner of the Tony Award® for Best Musical is The Outsiders. This classic coming-of-age story takes you to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1967, where Ponyboy Curtis, his best friend Johnny Cade, and their family of Greaser “outsiders” dream about who they want to become in a world that will never accept them. The Outsiders features a “tuneful and soul-bearing” (New York Stage Review) original score, “high-octane choreography” (New York Magazine), and a “sensational young cast” (The Wall Street Journal) that brings the show to life.
There is a rain effect on stage. Drops of water and small rubber pieces from the stage floor may land in or near the first two rows of the Orchestra section (rows A and B).
"I absolutely loved this production!!! It was a dream come true to travel from Melbourne Australia to see this in NYC and it did not disappoint. From the performance to the stage setting, I could not say a bad word as it was so moving, it brought me to tears. Outstanding in every way and highly recommend!!!"

Amazing story dramatically told through music, dance, and high energy
"I reread the book prior to seeing the show and really appreciated the way the story unfolded through the song lyrics and how some characters were more fully developed in the play than they seemed while reading the book. The show was faithful to S.E. Hinton's book while adding elements that made it memorable whether or not you'd read the book. I especially liked the choreography of the dance and fight sequences, the expansion of Ponyboy's brother Darry as a character in his own right (plus the actor had an amazing voice) and the duet Ponyboy had with Cherry Valance at the drive-in was outstanding. Truly a wonderful show!"

Beautifully tragic
"This show was unlike anything I've ever seen on Broadway before and I absolutely loved it. The story was beautifully told and I felt everything the characters were portraying. The musicianship was stellar, the harmonies were probably my favorite, and the dynamics on stage were out o this world. I highly recommend this show! "

Still Gold
"I loved the book many years ago growing up in a small town and relating to Ponyboy’s desire for something more. I loved the show! The songs, dialogue and theatrics were true to the novel. The is a story of passion, grit, loyalty and family, not just the one you’re born into. I would definitely see this show again! "
