Nicole Ari Parker, most recently seen in the Broadway revival of A Streetcar Named Desire, has been cast in a leading role on NBC’s drama pilot The Secret Lives of Husbands and Wives, reports Deadline.
Described as a soapy, dramatic thriller, Secret Lives revolves around murder and secrets among a tight group of suburban couples and their families. Parker plays trophy wife Paula, who contemplates leaving her broke husband after twelve years of a troubled marriage.
Parker starred in the Showtime series Soul Food, the ABC drama The Deep End and the UPN sitcom Second Time Around (co-starring her real-life husband, Boris Kodjoe). Her film roles include Remember the Titans, Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins, Boogie Nights and Sebastian Cole. Her stage credits include For Colored Girls and The Vagina Monologues. She will star opposite Chris Brown and Dennis Haysbert in the upcoming drama Phenom.
