Mary Testa & Solange Sandy to Step into B'way's Chicago

Two-time Tony nominee Mary Testa will be Chicago's next Matron Mama Morton. She is set to begin performances in the hit revival of April 25, replacing current star Anne L. Nathan.

Testa earned Tony Award nominations for her performances in On The Town and 42nd Street. Her other Broadway credits include Marie Christine, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Rink, Marilyn and Barnum. Her off-Broadway credits include The Knife, Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh!, Scapin, On the Town, From Above, A New Brain, Tartuffe, The Wax, First Lady Suite and String of Pearls.

In other Chicago news, former Sweet Charity cast member Solange Sandy who was replaced after the show's Chicago engagement will step into the role of Annie on April 11. Both Chicago and Sweet Charity are produced by Barry and Fran Weissler. MaryAnn Lamb will also begin performances as Hunyak next week.

Chicago currently stars Michelle DeJean as Roxie Hart, Brenda Braxton as Velma Kelly, Nathan as Matron Mama Morton, Ray Bokhour as Amos Hart, R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine and Brent Barrett as Billy Flynn.
