Scarlett Johansson Not Broadway-Bound, Says Her Rep

Scarlett Johansson Not Broadway-Bound, Says Her Rep

Scarlett Johansson

Johansson 'hasn't even been approached' about starring on Broadway.

A rep for Scarlett Johansson is denying published reports that the movie star may be headed to Broadway in a revival of the musical Promises, Promises. The rumor “is simply not true,” her publicist says. “She hasn't even been approached about it.”

A trio of beautiful young leading ladies—Johannson, Anne Hathaway and Zoe Deschanel—have had their names floated as possible co-stars for Sean Hayes in a revival of the Neil Simon-Burt Bacharach-Hal David tuner, which debuted on Broadway in 1968. Oscar nominee Hathaway and Hayes participated in a hush-hush reading of the show, a musical adaptation of The Apartment.
