There was drama, passion and Brits galore on February 16, when the off-Broadway debut of playwright Alexi Kaye-Campbell's play The Pride had its official opening bash at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. Starring British imports Hugh Dancy, Ben Whishaw, Andrea Riseborough and Alex James and directed by Tony -winner Joe Mantello, the show (about two love triangles set in 1958 and 2008, respectively) originally enjoyed a lauded run in London in 2008. Two years later it's finally available for New York audiences to check out, and ticketholders were out in droves for this talked-about opening. Spotted mingling with the show stars? Mrs. Hugh Dancy, a.k.a. actress Claire Danes, Tony Award winners Joel Grey and Norbert Leo Butz, MCC alums Steven Pasquale and Piper Perabo and longtime stage veterans like Charles Busch and Jayne Houdyshell, just to name a few. Click through to get a closer look at The Pride's starry New York premiere.
