Michael Arden and Katherine Kingsley will star in Trevor Nunn’s London revival of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Aspects of Love. Arden will play Alex Dillingham and Kingsley will take on the role of Rose Vibert. The limited engagement opens on July 15 at the Menier Chocolate Factory and will play through September 26. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
Arden starred in the 2003 Broadway revival of Big River and Twyla Thwarp’s The Times They Are-A Changing. His other stage credits include Bare, As You Like It and Swimming in the Shallows. Aspects of Love will mark his London stage debut.
Kingsley is currently touring the U.K. in The 39 Steps and recently appeared in the West End’s Piaf. Her other London stage work includes The Truth Will Out and The Black and White Ball.
Nunn, who directed Aspects’ original West End and Broadway productions, recently directed the Menier’s revival of A Little Night Music as well as its current Broadway transfer. His other works include The Coast of Utopia, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Sunset Boulevard, Cats, Les Miserables and The Seagull.
Based on David Garnett’s novel of the same name, Aspects of Love follows the entangling romances of actress Rose Vibert, her devoted fan Alex Dillingham and Alex’s extended family. The show features music and a book by Andrew Lloyd Weber and lyrics by Don Black and Charles Hart, and includes the popular song “Love Changes Everything.” Aspects of Love opened in the West End on April 17, 1989 and transferred to Broadway on April 9, 1990 where it ran for 377 performances.
