Twilight star Kristen Stewart may be the next big screen talent to shine on London’s West End. According to The Daily Mail, London’s theatrical bigwigs are wooing the young actress with the chance to take the stage, though no specific project has been announced. The actress has reportedly met with one producer and a director to informally discuss a list of potential star vehicles.
Don’t expect to see a casting announcement anytime soon—Stewart is under contract with two back-to-back films, including the next Twilight flick the big screen adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s famed On the Road. The stage has been on the actress’ mind, however. In a recent Vogue magazine interview, she talked about being inspired by the performance of friend and Tony Award nominee Eddie Redmayne in the current hit Red, going on to comment on the challenge of theater: “Unlike movie acting, you have to deliver the whole performance there and then. You live it every night.”
In addition to Twilight and its sequel, New Moon, Stewart has appeared as Joan Jett in the recent The Runaways, as well as The Panic Room, Cold Creek Manor, Undertow, Zathura, The Cake Eaters, Into the Wild, Adventureland and To the Rileys.
