Tony Awards Sign New Three-Year Deal with CBS

CBS will continue to telecast the Tony Awards for an additional three years, through 2013. A new deal has been signed with the network, which has broadcast the ceremony since 1978. No venue or date for the 2011 Tonys has been announced; the ceremony is moving from Radio City Music Hall due to a previous booking by Cirque du Soleil.

The 2009 Tony telecast recently won Emmy Awards as outstanding special class program (which also honored host Neil Patrick Harris) and outstanding writing for a variety, music or comedy special.
