It was old-home week on opening night of David Mamet’s A Life in the Theatre at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on October 12: Patrick Stewart’s former film co-stars Alan Cumming and Joel Grey and T.R. Knight’s Grey Anatomy pals Kate Walsh and Melissa George came out to support the two stars, who headline Mamet’s 1977 backstage comedy. Fighting laryngitis, the charming Stewart took a moment to speak with reporters at the opening night bash at 8 1/2, stepping up to the cameras along with Knight and their director, Neil Pepe.
