Helene Yorke (Wicked), Adrienne Warren (Dreamgirls) and Nick Blaemire (Cry Baby) will star in the world premiere of Bring It On at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre. The musical adaptation of the hit cheerleading film series is set to begin performances on January 15 and will open on January 28, directed and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler. The new musical will continue its Atlanta run through February 20.
The cast of Bring It On also features Ariana DuBose, Brandon Espinoza, Gregory Haney, Rod Harrelson, Dominique Johnson, Janet Krupin, Amanda LaVergne, Michael Mindlin, Ryann Redmond, Elena Ricardo, Kate Rockwell, Jon Rua, LaQuet Sharnell and Ephraim M. Sykes. Professional competitve cheerleaders will also appear onstage including Antwan Bethea, Michael Naone-Carter, Courtney Corbeille, Brooklyn Freitag, Melody Mills, Sheldon Tucker, David Ranck and Lauren Whitt.
Bring It On features music and lyrics by Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda. music by Tony winner Tom Kitt, lyrics by Amanda Green and a book by Tony winner Jeff Whitty. The show centers on two schools fighting to claim the title at the National Cheerleading Championships.
