The annual Gypsy of the Year competition is one of the Broadway community's favorite events, and the 2010 edition was no exception! Beloved stage stars like Kristin Chenoweth, Sean Hayes, Lin Manuel-Miranda and Bebe Neuwirth were on hand to yuk it up at the New Amsterdam Theatre and watch some of Broadway’s brightest companies compete in a no-holds-barred variety show. La Cage’s Douglas Hodge strutted as Miss Hannigan, Sally O’Malley (one of Promises, Promises star Molly Shannon’s hilarious characters from her days on Saturday Night Live) high-kicked her way through, and the opening number featured none other than Broadway legend Carol Channing! But the event, which is the culmination of six weeks of intensive fundraising by 63 participating Broadway, off-Broadway and touring shows, had one brilliant highlight: the final tally. All told, these talented folks raised $3,776,720 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Click on to see the Rialto regulars who made this 22nd annual benefit such a huge success.
