British-born stage star Jonathan Cake has secured a spot on the hit ABC series Desperate Housewives, according to Deadline.com. He will play Aaron, the new squeeze of Bree Van De Kamp (Marcia Cross), in four episodes this season and will return as a series regular next season.
Cake, whose Broadway credits include The Philanthropist, Cymbeline and Medea, recently returned to the London stage in A Flea in Her Ear, and spoke with Broadway.com about the experience. His off-Broadway credits include Restoration, Four Benches and Parlour Song, and other London credits include Baby Doll and Coriolanus. On film he has been seen in First Knight, True Blue, Honest, The One and Only and Brideshead Revisited.
Cake’s character Aaron is described as a handsome, college-educated police detective with strong family values who becomes involved with Bree when he comes to Wisteria Lane to investigate a case.
