Playwrights Horizons has announced complete casting for the New York premiere of Itamar Moses’ Completeness. The play will begin previews on August 19 and open on September 13, playing through September 25 at the company’s Mainstage Theater, directed by Pam MacKinnon.
The cast will feature Brian Avers (Rock ‘n’ Roll, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, King Lear), Aubrey Dollar (Juvenilia, Bottom of the World), Meredith Forlenza (A Behanding in Spokane, Pal Joey) and Michael Stahl-David (Picked, The Overwhelming, the feature film Cloverfield).
In Completeness, when computer scientist Elliot (Stahl-David) builds a computer program to help molecular biologist Molly (Dollar) with her research project, the variables in their evolving relationship shift as rapidly as the terms of their experiment. This deft and imaginative new ROM-comedy shows that even the most sophisticated algorithm may freeze in the face of life’s infinite possibilities. MacKinnon directed the play’s world premiere in spring 2011 at South Coast Repertory.
Playwrights Horizons’ production will feature scenic and costume designs by David Zinn, lighting design by Russell H. Champa and original music and sound design by Bray Poor.
