John Leguizamo will launch the tour of his one-man show, Ghetto Klown, at Los Angeles' Ricardo Montalban Theater this fall, according to Variety. Directed by Fisher Stevens, the production will run from September 30 through October 16. Leguizamo is expected to bring the show to South America and perform it entirely in Spanish shortly after the Los Angeles engagement.
Following his previous solo shows Mambo Mouth, Freak, Sexaholix and Spic-o-Rama, Ghetto Klown traces Leguizamo's journey from a young aspiring actor in New York City to his extensive Hollywood career in films like Carlito's Way, Executive Decision, William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet and more.
Ghetto Klown opened on Broadway on March 22, 2011. The show closed on July 10 after 95 performances. The production earned Leguizamo a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Solo Performance.
