Calista Flockhart will lead the cast as Nora in Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll House (spelling intentional) at Los Angeles Theatre Works. She will be joined onstage by Gregory Itzin as Krogstad, JoBeth Williams as Mrs. Linde, Tony Abatemarco as Dr. Rank and Jeannie Elias as the Nurse. Casting for the role of Nora’s husband Torvald will be announced shortly. The classic play, directed by Rosalind Eyres and translated by Rolf Fjelde, will run September 22-25 at UCLA's James Bridges Theatre.
Flockhart is best known for her starring role on hit TV series Ally McBeal and Brothers & Sisters. She appeared on Broadway in Three Sisters and The Glass Menagerie and off-Broadway in The Vagina Monologues. Her film credits include The Birdcage and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
In the play, Nora has a secret that saved her husband's life, but if he finds out what she's done, it might destroy their marriage. Blackmail and innocence, love and hypocrisy collide in one of the most celebrated plays in theater history.
