Game of Thrones and The Tudors star Natalie Dormer will play the title role in the Young Vic's production of After Miss Julie opposite Kieran Bew (Reasons to be Pretty, The Knot of the Heart) as John and Polly Frame (Earthquakes in London) as Christine. Directed by Natalie Abrahami, the production begins performances March 21 and runs through April 14.
Adapted from Strindberg's Miss Julie by Patrick Marber, After Miss Julie tells the tale of a passionate but ultimately destructive sexual liaison between a lowly footman and the English sexual aristocrat Miss Julie in July, 1945. Over one long midsummer’s night, the same night of the British Labour Party's election victory, Miss Julie’s world will be turned head over heels.
Marber first adaptated the piece for the BBC 2, with a production later playing London's Donmar Warehouse in 2003. The Roundabout Theatre Company presented the play on Broadway in 2009 with a production starring Sienna Miller, Johnny Lee Miller and Marin Ireland.
After Miss Julie features design by Patrick Burnier, lighting design by Oliver Fenwick and musical direction by Phil Bateman.
