Alice Bailey Johnson and Lucy Briggs-Owen have joined the cast of the West End transfer of Noises Off, as Poppy Norton-Taylor and Brooke Ashton respectively. Directed by Lindsay Posner, Michael Frayn’s classic comedy will transfer to the Novello Theatre after an acclaimed run at The Old Vic. Noises Off will play a limited engagement from March 24 to June 30.
Reprising their roles from the Old Vic production are Jonathan Coy (Frederick Fellowes), Janie Dee (Belinda Blair), Robert Glenister (Lloyd Dallas), Jamie Glover (Roger Tramplemain), Celia Imrie (Dotty Otley), Karl Johnson (Selsdon Mowbray) and Paul Ready (Tim Allgood) . Noises Off is a play-within-a-play that includes a first-hand look at the onstage performances and offstage chaos that take place while performing the sex comedy Nothing On. Noises Off originally premiered at the Lyric Theatre in London in 1982, and is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
Noises Off includes design by Peter McKintosh, lighting by Paul Pyant, music by Michael Bruce, sound by Fergus O’Hare, movement and fights by Kate Waters and casting by Maggie Lunn.
