Emily Watson, Zoe Kazan, Jennifer Morrison and Mia Maestro will join previously announced stars Adam Brody and Kristen Bell in the upcoming film adaptation of Neil LaBute's Some Girls, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Directed by Jennifer Getzinger (Mad Men), Some Girls will be produced and adapted by LaBute and co-produced by Leeden Media’s Patty West and Chris Schwartz, in conjunction with Andrew Carlberg Production.
Some Girls follows a man (Brody) who revisits several of his scorned ex-girlfriends on the eve of his wedding. The play, billed as Some Girl(s), was produced off-Broadway by MCC Theater in 2006 with a cast led by Will & Grace veteran and current The Best Man star Eric McCormack. The "girls" in the piece were portrayed by Maura Tierney, Fran Drescher, Brooke Smith and Judy Reyes.
Watson's film credits include Breaking the Waves, Hilary and Jackie, Gosford Park and War Horse. Zoe Kazan has appeared on Broadway in Come Back, Little Sheba, The Seagull and A Behanding in Spokane. Her off-Broadway credits include The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Angels in America and 100 Saints You Should Know. Kazan also wrote the off-Broadway play We Live Here. Morrison is best known for her TV work on House, How I Met Your Mother and Once Upon a Time. Maestro played Nadia Santos in TV’s Alias and Christina Kahlo in the film Frida.
