Jim Henson Co. Developing John Tartaglia's ImaginOcean Into Animated TV Series

Off-Broadway musical 'ImaginOcean' will become an animated TV series.

ImaginOcean, the off-Broadway children's musical created and co-produced by Avenue Q star John Tartaglia, is getting the TV series treatment from the Jim Henson Co, according to Deadline.com. Lisa Henson, Halle Stanford, Jill Shinderman and Michael Shawn Lewis will serve as executive producers on the project.

A glow-in-the-dark puppet musical, ImaginOcean follows the adventures of three young fish who set out on an oceanwide adventure to find a hidden treasure. Henson Digital Puppetry Studio will animate young fish Dorsal and his pals as they navigate a vibrant underwater world in stories full of comedy, friendship and music.

ImaginOcean opened at New World Stages on March 31, 2010 and received a Broadway.com Audience Choice Award nomination for Favorite New off-Broadway Musical. The musical ended its run at New World Stages on September 4, 2011.
