Let It Be, a new West End production featuring more than twenty of The Beatles’ greatest hits, has been set for a limited run at London’s Prince of Wales Theatre. Marking the 50th anniversary of the release of the band’s first single “Love Me Do,” the production will run from September 14 through January 19, 2013, with an opening night set for September 24.
Let It Be uses video footage to tell the story of the band’s rise from their humble beginnings in Liverpool’s Cavern Club, through the height of Beatlemania, to their later studio masterpieces. The production will be packed with classic Beatles’ hits including "I Wanna Hold Your Hand," "A Hard Day’s Night," "Day Tripper," "Strawberry Fields Forever," "When I’m 64," "Hello Goodbye," "Get Back" and early hits like "Twist and Shout" and "She Loves You."
The show is produced in part by Rain Productions, whose Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles ran on Broadway in the fall of 2010.
