After a whimsical opening night at Peter and the Starcatcher, Adam Chanler-Berat is welcoming us backstage at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre for the second episode of his Broadway.com video blog Boy’s Life. In this week’s installment, Chanler-Berat introduces us to the whimsical, quirky and often troubled mermaids who open the play’s second act, played by Rick Holmes, Arnie Burton, Greg Hildreth, Isaiah Johnson, Matt D'Amico, Kevin Del Aguila, Carson Elrod, David Rossmer and Teddy Bergman. There’s “Hot Lunch,” the mermaid who longs to squirt mustard on hot dogs, “Honey Loquat,” the brown-skinned mermaid offering up “some good throat healing” and of course there’s a chocolate-addicted mermaid who can’t seem to find a date.
