US, New Play from Queer as Folk's Michelle Clunie, to Play Off-Broadway

Actress and playwright Michelle Clunie will star star opposite Jeff LeBeau in the world premiere of her new play US at Theatre Row’s Lion Theatre. Directed by Jennifer Gelfer, the off-Broadway production will run September 5 through September 29. Opening night is set for September 9. 

A 21st century love story set against the backdrop of the 2008 Presidential election, US examines the power struggles in both politics and the bedroom. The play dissects how people meet, communicate, copulate and fall in love in the age of constant media and technology.

Best known for her role as Melanie Marcus on the acclaimed Showtime series Queer as Folk, Clunie’s film and television credits include Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, The Usual Suspects, JAG, Judging Amy and ER.  LeBeau's stage credits include Burning In China, The Last Pitch and Hurlybury.
