Annie Funke Completes Casting of If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet, Starring Jake Gyllenhaal

Casting is complete for the Roundabout Theatre Company production of Nick Payne’s If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet. Annie Funke is set to star as Anna, joining previously announced stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Terry, Michelle Gomez as Fiona and Brian F. O’Byrne as George. Directed by Michael Longhurst, If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet begins performances August 24, with an official opening night on September 20 at off-Broadway’s Laura Pels Theatre. The production will play a limited engagement through November 25.

If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet centers around Anna (Funke), a teenager whose weight makes her a natural target for bullies. When her mom transfers Anna to the school where she teaches in order to protect her daughter, it only makes things worse. Anna is suspended from school for retaliating against her bullies just as her estranged uncle Terry (Gyllenhaal) arrives unannounced. Although Terry is a heartbroken drifter with the mouth of a sailor, he connects with Anna in a way no one ever has.

Funke has appeared on Broadway in Hairspray and in the San Francisco company of Wicked. She currently plays Catherine Martin in off-Broadway’s Silence! The Musical. Her additional theater credits include Steel Magnolias, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Fame, Grease, The Producers and Once Upon a Mattress.
