Broadway alum Jessica Lee Goldyn will reprise the role of Cassie in the Paper Mill Playhouse production of A Chorus Line alongside Rachelle Rak, Gabrielle Ruiz and more. Directed and choreographed by Mitzi Hamilton, the New Jersey production begins performances October 3. An official opening night is scheduled for October 7, which will include a tribute to the musical's late composer, Marvin Hamlisch.
In addition to Goldyn as Cassie, A Chorus Line will star Rak as Sheila, Ruiz as Diana, Ashley Arcement as Val, Kyle Brown as Greg, Mike Cannon as Al, Kevin Curtis as Richie, KC Fredericks as Mark, Julia Freyer as Judy, Martin Harvey as Zach, Nikka Graff Lanzarone as Bebe, Brian Letendre as Larry, Mark Myars as Mike, Jeffrey Pew as Don, Amanda Rose as Kristine, J. Manuel Santos as Paul, Alexzandra Sarmiento as Connie, Kyle Vaughn as Bobby, Karley Willocks as Maggie, Carleigh Bettiol as Lois, Kevin Boseman as Butch, Jennifer Cordiner as Vicki, Jordan Fife Hunt as Roy, Chris Klink as Frank, Grant Thomas as Tom and Jessica Vaccaro as Tricia.
A Chorus Line originally opened at Broadway’s Shubert Theatre on July 25, 1975. The musical tells the story of 17 dancers auditioning for a Broadway chorus line. Starring Kelly Bishop, Robert LuPone and Sammy Williams, the production earned the Pulitzer Prize and nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The production ran for 6137 performances before closing on April 28, 1990. A Chorus Line was revived on October 5, 2006 at the Schoenfeld Theatre, starring Goldyn as Val.
Goldyn’s open call auditions for A Chorus Line on Broadway were documented in the 2008 film Every Little Step. She went on to play Cassie on Broadway. Rak has appeared on Broadway in Catch Me If You Can, Fosse, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Look of Love, Oklahoma!, Thou Shalt Not and Cats, and was also featured in the film Every Little Step. Ruiz appeared on Broadway in In the Heights and as Diana in the national tour of A Chorus Line.
