A dark chapter of American history is explored in Allegiance, a new musical set to open on September 19 at San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre, starring Tony winner Lea Salonga and Star Trek TV icon George Takei. Described as an epic story of family, love and patriotism set during the Japanese American internment of World War II, Allegiance features a score by Jay Kuo and a book by Kuo, Marc Acito and Lorenzo Thione. We’ve got your first look at production photos of the show, which also features Telly Leung (as the younger version of Takei’s character), Paolo Montalban, Allie Trimm and more. The limited engagement is set to continue through October 21, directed by Stafford Arima. Click below for a photo preview!
