Sure, she can do magic, but how’s her time step? Emma Watson may be following the footsteps (or, more appropriately, the jazz squares) of her former Harry Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe. The actress revealed she may be looking towards the theater for a future project.
“I love musical theater, so I would love to do a musical soon, that would be wonderful,” Watson told British newspaper The Telegraph at a screening for her new movie, The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
In Wallflower, Watson’s character Sam performs a number from The Rocky Horror Show, which the starlet said gave her “a taste for cabaret and singing and dancing.” Dressing in raunchy outfits for the iconic musical gave Watson nerves at first though. “I was terrified of the Rocky Horror scenes, but as it turned out, it was fun,” said the 22-year-old. “Once I got over how weird it was to go from wearing knitted jumpers to corsets and fishnets, I got it together.”
If she’s interested in keeping the fishnet motif, might we suggest Watson star in Cabaret? Chicago? Kiss of the Spider Woman? (Any Kander and Ebb show, apparently.) While we’re on the topic, Watson should just peruse Broadway.com's list of roles the versatile young performer could tackle on the Great White Way.
