About the Show

Carol Woods will debut a new show at 54 Below on October 15.

Olivier Award nominee Carol Woods will debut her new show, From Blues to Broadway, on October 15 at 54 Below. The one-night-only concert will feature musical direction by Sheldon Becton and vocal stylings by Woods as she tackles an array of musical genres.

Woods is perhaps best known to theater audiences for her portrayal of the tough Matron “Mama” Morton in Chicago. She also earned an Olivier Award nomination for Blues in the Night. However, moviegoers will recognize her from Julie Taymor’s Beatles musical Across the Universe, in which she performed an emotional rendition of “Let It Be.”
