The winners of the 44th Annual Jeff Equity Awards, which honor the best of Chicago’s theater offerings, were announced in a ceremony at Drury Lane Oakbrook on October 15. Among the big winners of the night: Goodman Theatre’s The Iceman Cometh, which took home six awards as the top large-scale play, and Chicago Shakespeare Theatre's Follies, which won honors for a large musical. The Joseph Jefferson Awards (named for actor/comedian Joseph Jefferson) have honored Chicago theater since 1968, with a committee of 52 members evaluating over 250 theatrical productions every year. The Awards honor both Equity and Non-Equity productions (the Non-Equity ceremony will be held on June 3, 2013).
