Linda Eder has signed on to the Voices United Choral Festival, joining over 600 performers as well as host Raymond Arroyo and conductor Eric Knapp. The glitzy musical event will play the Beacon Theatre on November 12 and feature a special performance by Ryan Silverman (The Phantom of the Opera). More guests will be announced at a later date.
Billed as a “star-studded musical extravaganza,” the festival will benefit the outreach ministries of the Actors’ Chapel and Covenant House. The night will include performances from local choirs, including the Choir at St. Malachy’s, Connecticut Choral Society and the New Jersey Choral Society. The event will also hand out awards to the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal and organist David Higgs.
Eder launched her career in 1987 on the popular TV show Star Search. She appeared on Broadway in Frank Wildhorn’s Jekyll and Hyde. Since that time, Eder has released 14 solo albums ranging from Broadway tunes to her own original songs.
