Filming has begun for 'Sunshine on Leith,' a new movie-musical based on the music of the Proclaimers.

Filming has begun for Sunshine on Leith, a new movie musical featuring the music of the Scottish duo The Proclaimers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film is inspired by the Scottish stage production of the same name, which bowed in 2007 at Scotland’s Dundee Rep.

Identical twins Charlie and Craig Reid make up the band behind hits like “I’m On My Way,” “Letter from America” and the incessantly infectious “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).”

Sunshine on Leith (named for the Proclaimers’ second album) tells the story of two army vets returning home from Afghanistan. One finds his soul mate, while the other loses the girl he left behind.

The musical will be directed by Dexter Fletcher and star Peter Mullan, Jane Horrocks, George McKay, Kevin Guthrie, Antonia Thomas and Freya Mavor.

Put some nostalgia in your morning with the music video for the Proclaimers' best-known hit, "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)."
