Closing Cast Announced for the West End’s Chariots of Fire
Jack Lowden in 'Chariots of Fire'
Jack Lowden and James McArdle will close out the West End run of 'Chariots of Fire.'

The final cast has been set for the West End stage adaptation of Chariots of Fire, which will close at London's Gielgud Theatre on February 2, 2013. Directed by Edward Hall, the production transferred from North London’s Hampstead Theatre to the West End in May.

The production will retain current leads Jack Lowden as Eric Liddell and James McArdle as Harold Abrahams, as well as new cast members David Beams, Isabella Calthorpe, Zac Fox, Leigh Lothian, David McGranaghan, Aki Omoshaybi, Dylan Turner and Gabriel Vick. The new ensemble will join current cast members Gareth Charlton, Henry Davis, Lloyd Everitt, Daniel Fraser, Nickolas Grace, Matthew Pearson, Savannah Stevenson, Paul Tinto, Simon Williams, Tam Williams and Nicholas Woodeson.

Chariots of Fire tells the story of two track athletes—one Christian and one Jewish—who overcome the odds to compete in the 1924 Paris Olympics. Inspired by the extraordinary true story of Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams, Chariots of Fire is an inspirational tale of hope, honor and belief. Written by Colin Welland and directed by Hugh Hudson, the original 1981 film of the same name won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
