Chaim Potok’s classic novel My Name Is Asher Lev has found new life on stage at off-Broadway's Westside Theatre. Ari Brand stars as the titular character, alongside Jenny Bacon and Mark Nelson as his parents. Adapted for the stage by Aaron Posner and directed by Gordon Edelstein, Asher Lev centers on a Hasidic Jewish boy and aspiring artist living in New York City. Tensions arise with his parents and with his community as he struggles to pursue his passion and find his artistic voice.
