Two-time Tony nominee John Leguizamo won’t be headed back to television as soon as we thought. Leguizamo was set to star in the ABC comedy pilot Kings Of Van Nuys, a multi-camera comedy based on the British sitcom Only Fools And Horses. However, Deadline reports that the pilot will not be moving on after all.
Kings Of Van Nuys starred Leguizamo and Dustin Ybarra as two streetwise brothers who team up with their grandfather (Christopher Lloyd) to concoct get-rich-quick schemes that may or may not be morally outrageous.
The pilot was formally greenlighted in August and received a re-tooling earlier this year, with additional casting include Bridesmaids’ Wendi McLendon-Covey and B.J. Bales. ABC decided to cut the project after screening the second version of the pilot.
The good news: Leguizamo is free for pilot season! Anyone in Hollywood need a Ghetto Klown?
