Smash is almost back on TV—and with some spicy new energy in the form of Jennifer Hudson, Jeremy Jordan and a slew of other familiar theater faces ready to inject NBC’s Broadway dramedy with some much-needed electricity. In an extended trailer for the show’s sophomore season, the changes (brought on by new showrunner Josh Safran of Gossip Girl) are palpable: there’s a sassy new Karen, Jordan as a jilted composer, Anjelica Huston’s Eileen in legal hot water, Megan Hilty’s Ivy seeking repentance for her past crazy-pants behavior and Hudson absolutely singing her face off. Check out the preview of Smash’s second season, and get ready to pick that jaw up off the floor!
