Tony-nominated Avenue Q director and recent Pitch Perfect helmer Jason Moore is in negotiations to direct Tina Fey in the upcoming comedy The Nest, reports Deadline.
The Nest follows two thirtysomething sisters who return home and, upon learning their parents’ house has been put on the market, decide to spend one more wild weekend together. Fey will produce and star in the film, which is written by her longtime friend Paula Pell (Saturday Night Live). The project would be Fey’s first gig since wrapping up 30 Rock.
Moore’s directing filmography has been booming as of late, with the acapella-tastic Pitch Perfect becoming a runaway hit last year and the ABC comedy pilot Trophy Wife on his slate for the 2013-14 season. Moore is also an accomplished theater director, having earned a Tony nomination for directing Avenue Q in 2003. His other Broadway directing credits include Les Miserables (as a replacement resident director), Steel Magnolias and Shrek The Musical.
